Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 and the severally severing 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
