In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 separating one from another, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 For what day is that time fixed? 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
