We have not created the heavens and earth, and what between them is, for vanity; such is the thought of the unbelievers, wherefore woe unto the unbelievers because of the Fire! 27 Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, as Mufsidun (those who associate partners in worship with Allah and commit crimes) on earth? Or shall We treat the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2), as the Fujjar (criminals, disbelievers, wicked, etc)? 28 (Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings, that they may mediate on its Signs, and that men of understanding may receive admonition. 29 We bestowed upon David (an illustrious son), Solomon. How excellent a servant (of Ours he was)! Indeed he constantly turned to Us in devotion. 30 When in the evening were presented to him the standing steeds, 31 he said: 'Indeed I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord until the sun has vanished behind a veil. 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 And assuredly We tried Sulaiman, and set upon his throne a mere body. Thereafter he was penitent. 34 He said: 'Forgive me my Lord, and give me a kingdom the like of which will not befall any after me, surely, You are the Giver' 35 So We subjected to him the wind, that ran at his commandment, softly, wherever he might light on, 36 as well as all the rebellious forces [that We made to work for him] - every kind of builder and diver 37 and others linked together in fetters. 38 'This is Our gift, give or withhold without reckoning' 39 And lo! he hath favour with Us, and a happy journey's end. 40
