We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 He said, "My Lord, since You have let me go astray. I shall make the path of error seem alluring to them on the earth and shall mislead them all, 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
