And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
