The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
