The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The time of people's reckoning has drawn near, and yet they turn aside in heedlessness. 1 There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing. 2 With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?" 3 He said: My Lord knows what is spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 4 Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" 5 The people of the town whom We had destroyed also had no faith. Will these people then believe in God? 6 And We sent not before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message if you do not know. 7 We gave them not bodies that would not eat food, nor were they immortals. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
