And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
