Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 a warning to humans, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
