The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
