The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
