Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
