AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 till the appointed time. 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 “Indeed you do not have any power over My bondmen, except those wanderers who follow you.” (The devil is unsuccessful in tempting Allah’s chosen bondmen to commit sin.) 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
