Al-Najm 3 of 3
So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
