Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
