The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
