The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 when their brother Hud said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 131 and fear Him who has succoured you with what you know, 132 He has bestowed on you cattle, and sons, 133 And gardens and fountains; 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 "This is no other than the false-tales and religion of the ancients, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 19, Page 97] 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 Eventually they gave the lie to him and We destroyed them. Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
