The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and banana trees, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
