Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is the Kingdom: He has power over all things; 1 Who created death and life in order to try you to see who of you are best of deed. He is all-mighty and forgiving, 2 [Hallowed be] He who has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another: no fault will thou see in the creation of the Most Gracious. And turn thy vision [upon it] once more: canst thou see any flaw? 3 Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim. 4 We have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell. 5 For those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination. 6 When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up, 7 As if about to explode with rage; whenever a group is thrown into it, the guardians of hell will ask them, “Did not a Herald of Warning come to you?” 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames. 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 Verily those who dread their Lord unseen, theirs shall be forgiveness and a great hire. 12 Whether you speak in secret or aloud, He knows what is in every heart. 13 Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything). 14
