He it is Who made the earth subservient to you. So traverse in its tracks and partake of the sustenance He has provided. To Him will you be resurrected. 15 Can you ever feel secure that He who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you up when, lo and behold, it begins to quake? 16 Or are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not send down upon you a punishment? Then shall you know how was My warning. 17 And assuredly those before them belied; then what wise hath been My wrath! 18 Do they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them? None, except the Merciful holds them. Surely, He sees all things. 19 Or which army do you have that will help you against the Most Gracious? The disbelievers are in nothing except an illusion. 20 Who is there to give you food in case He withholds His bounty? Yet they persist in rebellion and aversion. 21 But then, is he that goes along with his face close to the ground better guided than he that walks upright on a straight way? 22 Say: "It is He who raised you and gave you ears and eyes and hearts. How little are the thanks you offer!" 23 Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered." 24 And they say: When (will) this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful? 25 Say, "God knows best. I am only one who gives warning". 26 At length, when they see it close at hand, grieved will be the faces of the Unbelievers, and it will be said (to them): "This is (the promise fulfilled), which ye were calling for!" 27 Say to them: “Did you ever consider: whether Allah destroys me and those that are with me, or shows mercy to us, who can protect the unbelievers from a grievous chastisement?” 28 Proclaim, “He only is the Most Gracious – we have accepted faith in Him and have relied only upon Him; so you will now realise who is in open error.” 29 Say thou: bethink ye, were your water to be sunk away, who then could bring you water welling-up? 30
