He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 Yet for all thou didst know, [O Muhammad,] he might perhaps have grown in purity, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 And whereas he fears, 9 You neglect. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 Exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 How We pour water in showers 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And thick gardens, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
