The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion regarding him who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him call his associates, 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
