[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they imagine that the wealth and children We have provided 55 We [but want to] make them vie with one another in doing [what they consider] good works? Nay, but they do not perceive [their error]! 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 But then when We seize the affluent among them, they will cry out for help. 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet SAW), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 Or do they say, 'He is bedevilled'? Nay, he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse from the truth. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 And indeed, We tested them through suffering, but they did not abase themselves before their Sustainer; and they will never humble themselves 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
