▼ 25 The Statute Book
Al-Furqaan 6 of 6
Blessed be He who has set in heaven constellations, and has set among them a lamp, and an illuminating moon. 61 And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude. 62 And the servants of (Allah) Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!"; 63 And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer] 64 And they who say: O our Lord! turn away from us the punishment of hell, surely the punishment thereof is a lasting 65 it is an evil settling, and an evil residence' 66 who, when they expend, are neither prodigal nor parsimonious, but between that is a just stand; 67 Those who invoke not, with Allah, any other god, nor slay such life as Allah has made sacred except for just cause, nor commit fornication; - and any that does this (not only) meets punishment. 68 Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated - 69 Save him who repenteth and believeth and doth righteous work; as for such, Allah will change their evil deeds to good deeds. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. 70 In fact, the one who repents and does righteous deeds, returns to Allah as one ightly should. - 71 Those who witness no falsehood, and, if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honourable (avoidance); 72 And those who, when they are reminded of the signs of their Lord, do not fall deaf and blind upon them. 73 They pray, "Lord, let our spouses and children be the delight of our eyes and ourselves examples for the pious ones." 74 Those will be rewarded with the highest place (in Paradise) because of their patience. Therein they shall be met with greetings and the word of peace and respect. 75 There they shall live for ever; a fine dwelling place, and residence. 76 O Muhammad, tell the people, "MyLord does not care at all if you do not invoke Him. Now that you have denied (His Revelation), you will soon be awarded such a punishment which you will never be able to avoid." 77

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
