And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper. 31 And of His signs are the ships that run on the sea like landmarks; 32 If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 And let them know, those who call Our messages in question, that for them there is no escape. 35 AND [remember that] whatever you are given [now] is but for the [passing] enjoyment of life in this world - whereas that which is with God is far better and more enduring. [It shall be given] to all who attain to faith and in their Sustainer place their trust; 36 who eschew grave sins and shameful deeds, and whenever they are angry, forgive; 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 And those who, when great wrong afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 And the recompense of evil is punishment like it, but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust. 40 And whosoever vindicateth himself after wrong done to him; these! against them there is no way of blame. 41 The blame is only against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous. 42 whoever is patient and forgiving, acts with great courage and resolution. 43
