The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Mount; 1 and the Book inscribed 2 in an exposed parchment 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 There is none that can avert it; 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 Reclining on ranged couches. And we wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes. 20 And those who believed, and whose progeny also followed them in their faith, will be united with their offspring. We will not deprive them of their labour in the least. Every man is bound to what he does. 21 And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear, 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 Formerly we had always prayed to Him. Surely He is Most Benign, Most Compassionate.” 28
