The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Terror descends 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 and a few from later times. 14 On studded thrones. 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and flowing water, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 on raised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
