The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
