The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
