۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
