Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 A Book whereof the Verses are explained in detail; A Quran in Arabic for people who know. 3 proclaiming good news and a warning. Yet most of them turn away and so do not listen. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have a reward never to be cut off. 8
