The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruit in plenty 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
