Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
