Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions ranged 15 and carpets spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
