The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
