We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 not even a word can he utter but there is a watcher with him, ever-present. 18 And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid. 19 and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled. 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 (And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.). 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 "Who set up another ilah (god) with Allah, then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment." 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 He will say, “Do not dispute before Me – I had already warned you of the punishment.” 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
