In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHATSOEVER IS IN the heavens and the earth sings the praises of God. He is all-mighty and all-wise. 1 To Him belongs the Kingdom in the heavens and earth. It is He who revives and causes to die, and He has power over all things. 2 He is the First and the Last, the Clear and the Hidden. He has knowledge of all things. 3 He it is who has created the heavens and the earth in six aeons, and is established on the throne of His almightiness. He knows all that enters the earth, and all that comes out of it, as well as all that descends from the skies, and all that ascends to them. And He is with you wherever you may be; and God sees all that you do. 4 To Him belong the heavens and the earth and to Him all things return. 5 He plungeth the night into the day, and plungeth the day into the night, and He is the Knower of whatsoever is in the breasts. 6 Believe in Allah and His messenger, and spend (in charity) out of the (substance) whereof He has made you heirs. For, those of you who believe and spend (in charity),- for them is a great Reward. 7 What aileth you that ye believe not in Allah, when the messenger calleth you to believe in your Lord, and He hath already made a covenant with you, if ye are believers? 8 It is He who sends down upon His servant signs, clear signs, that He may bring you forth from the shadows into the light. Surely God is to you All-gentle, All-compassionate. 9 Why should you not spend for the cause of God, when God alone holds the heritage of the heavens and the earth? Those of you who spent and fought before the victory will be higher in rank than those who spent and fought afterwards. Yet God has promised you all a good reward. He is aware of all that you do. 10
