Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In a Garden on high, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
