The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 a written record, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
