The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 arise, and warn! 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 And your clothing purify 4 shun uncleanness; 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing); 8 So that is a tough day. 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons standing before him, 13 And made (life) smooth for him. 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 Then he looked round; 21 frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what will make you realize what hell is? 27 It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. 31
