Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 storming tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 excusing or warning, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
