The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great event, 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And dense gardens. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
