The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
