And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 Said He: "Not so, indeed! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our messages: verily, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]! 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 Send with us the Children of Isra'il? 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. But [since] then my Sustainer has endowed me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and has made me one of [His] message-bearers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
