Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
