The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
