The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
