Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 storming tempestuously 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is it timed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 as black camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
