The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news - 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 Living therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
