The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
