Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding back-biter, 1 who has gathered riches and counted them over 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher. 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 it closes in on them from every side 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
